2017 Skills Competition and Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate 3-on-3 Tournament Fundraiser

Help Raise Money for Youth Ultimate!

On Saturday, June 10, 2017, Sault Ultimate will be hosting its annual Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game event, which will also include our annual skills competition!

The event will start with the skills competition at 1:00pm, followed by a 3-on-3 tournament at 2:30pm. All proceeds go to Ultimate Canada’s Art Hawkins Development Fund.

The Art Hawkins Development Fund is used to “support the accessibility and development of Ultimate and Spirit of the Game in Canada with children, youth and those with a disability, especially in economically disadvantaged communities.” Over the last few years, the Art Hawkins Development Fund has been used to run the ReachUp program, which uses Ultimate to teach kids living in First Nations about staying active and avoiding smoking. This group has demonstrated Ultimate in local communities, like Batchewana First Nation and Thessalon First Nation.

The skills competition is a great way to show off how far and how accurately you can throw. Challenge yourself and your fellow competitive league players to the longest huck and hammer! See how accurately your backhand stacks up!

Recruit three or four friends and challenge others in the Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate 3-on-3 Tournament. Simultaneous games will run to 8 or 20 minutes followed by semis and finals.

The registration is only $10, and the event will be held at the Rocky DiPietro Football Field located at 260 Elizabeth Street in Sault Ste. Marie. This is just behind the John Rhodes Community Centre. The registration form can be found here!
