Well ten weeks of regular season play have come and gone. Where did the summer go? I hope everyone has had lots of fun this season and are pumped for the playoffs!
This year there will be two weeks of single elimination playoffs. This week (August 11th) all teams play in the quarter finals. Winners in week one advance to the semi finals and play at 6:00 on August 18th (NOTE THE TIME CHANGE!). Winners from the semi finals play again that night in the Finals at 7:30 on Anna McCrea Field. Teams who lose during the playoffs can either play in a spirit game at 7:30 in week two or watch the finals that are going on at the same time. SUPA’s season ending party will follow the championship final game.
Stay tuned for more details on the party, it should be an epic night of Ultimate and Fun!

Monday Night Pickup
Just a reminder to everyone that pickup games of Ultimate are still hapening 6:30 Mondays at Anna McCrea. Everyone is welcome to come out and play Mondays, even if you aren’t playing Wednesday nights. If you have friends who might like to give Ultimate a try, let them know. This is also a great way to get a little more practice with your flick before playoffs start.
Sudbury Hat Tournament August
The first annual DAS BOOT hat tournament will be happening on August 21st & 22nd in Sudbury. Games will be 3-4 gender ratio on Saturday and 2-3 on Sunday (depending on number of teams) and there will be a dinner/party on the Saturday night in conjunction with Sudbury league year end. The cost is $15 per person, and this includes the games, the field food, and the dinner – actually a super good price when you look at it! Plus, it’s pretty close compared to most tournaments… It is a hat tournament, so teams will be drawn from a hat on the Thursday or Friday before. They are trying to really mix up the teams so that everyone gets to meet and play with new people – it’s definitely designed to be a fun, lower competition tournament.
Registration is done from the Sudbury Ultimate website via the LEAGUERUNNER link. Any interested parties should create an account and then after it is activated (usually within a day) log in, and click on “List Events” on the left side of the screen. Then select “Hat Tournament – non SUC member” to register.
