The SUPA engine is shifting into high gear as the start of the season approaches. Check out the action this week:
Pickup game Sunday @ 3 pm, Bawating. A reporter from the Sault Star will be there this week, so lets have a great turnout and don’t forget your hair brush. Bring a friend and introduce them to the sport.
Skills and scrimmage Monday @ 6:30 pm, Clergue (beside main library). Curtis Collins, 20 year veteran and former member of Canadian Masters ultimate team is offering these fun and useful sessions to help your game.
Registration party – bring a friend
Wednesday 7 – 10 pm, Arcadia Coffee House, 819 Queen St. East
Watch the 2008 World Ultimate Championships on the big screen. Intense, athletic, inspiring. Men’s, women’s and mixed finals. This is your chance to see the sport played at the highest level. The layouts will make your jaw drop.
Register for the season. Play in competitive, co-rec or both.
Meet team captains, who will be looking for players to draft. Want to play with friends? Let ’em know.
Meet other players you might want to form a team with.
Meet Curtis Collins, former world championship ultimate frisbee player, now Art Gallery director and all-around good guy. He’ll be teaching skills and helping coach tournament teams this year.
Meet the SUPA executive team, ask questions, give suggestions on the upcoming year.
Volunteer. Find out how you can help the sport you love in big or small ways.
CBC Radio Live Promo
CBC Morning North radio program is in town next Wednesday and SUPA will be featured just before the 7 am news (yeah, painfully early I know). We’ll be at the native students centre at Sault College. CBC will give out some SUPA discs as prizes and we’ll get to talk about the local ultimate scene. Come out or tune in if you can get up early!
